Filthy Music Review - 'Exmortus: Immortality Made Flesh'

Exmortus – Immortality Made Flesh (Single) (2013)

Prosthetic Records

Review by Jude Felton

Hailing from Whittier, CA, Exmortus are set to release their debut album for Prosthetic Records in the near future. In the meantime they have unleashed a limited edition single, which also happens to feature a cover of Judas Priest’s Freewheel Burning on the B side.

Limited to 300 copies, Immortality Made Flesh is a single you are going to want to snap up, as it’s an absolute barnstormer. Five and a half minutes of insane dueling guitar work, thundering along, with a hint of death metal, a smattering of thrash metal and a good healthy dose of full-on metal.

The title song immediately hooks you in, and isn’t content to let you go until the last note fades away. By then though, you’ll just want to blast it again, as it’s that damned good. I’m just pissed that I have to wait for the album to drop, as I don’t want to wear this tune out.

At the time of writing this review, Exmortus have just embarked on a West Coast tour, entitled Death upon the West, alongside Hatchet. This tours runs until the end of November, and then in February they head out again, this time with Dark Tranquility and Omnium Gatherum, where they will venture further afield in the US, as well as including some Canadian dates.

Tracklist:

1. Immortality Made Flesh
2. Freewheel Burning (Judas Priest Cover)

Immortality Made Flesh is available for order from Prosthetic Records.
