"What's the matter, kid? Don't you like clowns?" Well, I do, and so should you! On April 2nd Dark Sky Films are unleashing Stitches onto Blu-ray and DVD over here in the States. It's an absolute blast, of that you can be sure, and thanks to Dark Sky Films I have one copy of the DVD to give away to one lucky reader.

Filthy Music Review - 'Primitive Man: Scorn'

Primitive Man – Scorn (2013)

Throatruiner/Mordgrimm

Review by Jude Felton

Extreme music has always been on the darker side of things, whether it be lyrically, musically or visually, but little will prepare you for the debut offering from Denver, Colorado’s Primitive Man. The album, Scorn, as if the cover artwork isn’t warning enough, will send less hardy folk running, screaming for cover as its musical menace escapes from the speakers.

La La Land Records to release 'Evil Dead' Original Motion Picture Score

The fine folk at La La Land Records will be releasing the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the new Evil Dead movie on April 9th. Composed by Roque Banos, it will be released on Digital Download and Deluxe CD, with the CD featuring an additional 25 minutes of music that won't be on the Digital version.

Filthy Music Review - 'Echtra: Sky Burial'

Echtra – Sky Burial (2013)

Temple of Torturous

Review by Jude Felton

If you have not heard of Echtra, you don’t stand alone as neither had I until very recently. To say that I am glad to have made their acquaintance, through this album, would be a mild understatement. It may not be your usual faire, but much in the same way that Goatcraft offered up something different with the terrific All for Naught album, Echtra also take the listener on a unique experience.

Filthy Review - 'New World'

New World (2013)

Review by Jude Felton

It really is hard to emphasize just how impressive the cinematic output from Korea has been over the last few years. It seems that every year at least one film comes along that shatters the conventions of its particular genre, especially the thriller. I could go on and list a ton of films that you need to see, but chances are that you’ve already caught many of them. Well, get ready to add New World to that list. On the surface it’s just another gangster/cop flick, but there is so much more to it; this movie pulls no punches and is absolutely stunning.

'The Great Escape' comes to Blu-ray from MGM and 20th Century Fox

Splendid news! One of my all time favorite movies, The Great Escape, is coming to Blu-ray from MGM and 20th Century Fox. It will be released on May 7th and will contain over 3 hours of extras, not to mention a brand new 4K transfer. The news was announced to celebrate the film's star, Steve McQueen's birthday, which was yesterday and he would have been 83.

Lionsgate release teaser posters for 'You're Next'

It looks like Adam Wingard's 2011 home invasion-style movie, You're Next, will finally be getting a release this summer. Lionsgate have released 3 new teaser posters, and the eagle-eyed among you will see that there is August 23 attached to them. Guess I know what my birthday movie will be! Did you remember to lock your door?

The wild and wonderful 'Skull World' release date and distribution details revealed

Ready to open a can of crazy? Then you'll need to check out Justin McConnell's documentary Skull World when it opens. Theatrical dates and Blu-ray/DVD/VOD releases dates have just been announced, and it comes highly recommended from my good self. Follow the adventures of Skull Man (Greg Sommer) and enter the world of Box Wars, this is, as the artwork states, damned entertaining stuff. Distribution will be handled by Indiecan Entertainment, alongside Unstable Ground. The North American theatrical tour starts on May 10, with a home release on June 18th, with the Blu-ray and DVD.

Toronto, ON – Straight off of the film’s World Premiere at the Canadian Film Fest, the
counter-culture documentary SKULL WORLD will be released via a partnership between
Indiecan Entertainment (run by the prolific Avi Federgreen), and production shingle
Unstable Ground. The film will see a North American theatrical tour launch May 10th,
beginning at the Carlton Cinema in Toronto, before a release on Blu-Ray, DVD and VOD
June 18th.

The film “Follows several years in the life of Greg Sommer, aka Skull Man, as he builds
the Canadian chapter of Box Wars, an international underground movement of
cardboard-based combat.” Shot and directed by Justin McConnell (The Collapsed, The
Eternal, Working Class Rock Star), SKULL WORLD will be available in North America
on a region-free DVD & limited edition “Warrior Edition” Blu-Ray, each loaded with
hours of bonus features. In addition, it will be available through common VOD platforms
in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Indiecan Entertainment CEO Avi Federgreen negotiated the deal with Unstable Ground
Inc.’s Justin McConnell, in association with Variety Store TV Inc. “Justin is a great
emerging filmmaker in Canada and SKULL WORLD is just a sample of his great work.
He’s someone well worth watching out for!” Stated Avi Federgreen of the project. Coproducers
Raven Banner Entertainment continue to represent the film internationally.
