Filthy Review - Some Guy Who Kills People

Some Guy Who Kills People (2011)

Review by Jude Felton

Some Guy Who Kills People could quite possibly be one of the most generic titles ever, for a horror flick. However, this is an intentionally bland title that hides beneath it a true gem of a movie. Hell, it’s not even a horror flick. Well it is, kind of, to a point, erm…. No, in actual fact Some Guy Who Kills People is a film that has blended horror, comedy and a family drama into one seamless movie. Sounds like a brave step, doesn’t it?

'Smiley' is coming for you!

The upcoming release of the new horror flick Smiley, which opens on October 11th, has taken a novel approach to how it will be released. The full details of which are below, because it is quite long-winded, but the long and short of it will be that viewers will be able to choose the PG-13 or R rated versions on VOD, and also use Tugg to bring it to theaters near you. Anyway, like I said, the full details are below, along with the rather cool trailer.

Full details and trailer below.

Filthy Review - Sector 7

Sector 7 (2011)

Review by Jude Felton

Sector 7 was the first 3D movie to come out of Korea, and it shows. Not necessarily in the execution of the 3D effects (I watched the 2D Blu-ray version), but in the style of the movie and the plot that comes along with it. Sector 7 is a monster movie set in an isolated location with a cast ripe for the killing, and for the most part it is a stupidly entertaining movie. You can tell from the offset that this is aimed squarely at a mainstream audience that likes to dabble in the scary stuff. What you aren’t going to get is the subtle style of horror that the Koreans do so well.

'The Inbetweeners' Red Band Trailer

The Inbetweeners movie, which is based on the UK television show, has a new trailer in readiness for its theatrical release Stateside on September 7th. Wrekin Hill Entertainment will be releasing the film, which follows four less-than-cool friends who head out to Greece on vacation.

Jessica Biel is front and center on the new poster for the upcoming release of Pascal Laugier's 'R' rated The Tall Man. Set for release on August 31st from Image Entertainment, the film also stars Stephen McHattie and Samantha Ferris. If The Tall Man packs even a fraction of the punch that Laugier's previous moive, Martyrs had we should be in for a good time.

News just in on the UK DVD release on the Canadian fight flick Monster Brawl. The film, directed by Jesse T. Cook, will hit DVD on August 20th through Momentum Pictures.
