The Prophecy: Salvation (2013)

Code666 Records

Review by Jude Felton

If Norway is known for its Black Metal and Sweden for its Death Metal, then Yorkshire, in the north of England, must definitely be known for its Doom Metal. Bands like My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost are both from this beautiful area, as are The Prophecy, who with Salvation deliver their 4th album.

Filthy Review - 'The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh'

The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh (2012)

Review by Jude Felton

Rue Morgue magazine head honcho, and former editor, Rodrigo Gudino has been keeping himself very busy of late. Having made several short films over the past few years, he has now moved on to the feature length format, with The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh.

Although I have not seen all of his shorts, I did have the pleasure of watching The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow, which you can find on YouTube. Just from watching that I could tell that Gudino’s work would be offering up something a little different from the norm, and this feature film further cements those thoughts.

Filthy Review - 'White Zombie'

White Zombie (1932)

Review by Jude Felton

Films featuring the undead tend to be bloody and gory affairs, but this wasn’t always the case. Way back in 1932 legendary actor Bela Lugosi was looking for roles that were different from Dracula; the role that made him famous. One such film was White Zombie, and it features zombies based on the Haitian voodoo style undead, similar to those that were seen in the 1988 movie The Serpent and the Rainbow.
