Great news for fans of the FX show Wilfred, which I thought was funny as hell, and that is the news that season one will be hitting Blu-ray and DVD on June 19th. Twentieth Century Fox will be releasing it, and included on the release will be over 30 minutes of extra footage.

May 1st will see the debut, on DirecTV, of the Mel Gibson flick Get the Gringo, which he also wrote and produced. Gibson plays a criminal who crashes whilst crossing the US/Mexico border and finds himself serving time in a tough Mexican jail (is there any other kind of Mexican jail?). Get the Gringo will hit Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and Digital on a wide release later in the year.

Strand Releasing recently unleashed the brutal Tyrannosaur upon the U.S. public. On May 15th they are set to release the Ausrian film Michael, which itself looks like it could be tough viewing. Directed by Markus Scheinzer, it focuses on the titular character, who on the surface seems like your everyday normal kind of guy. The difference here is that he has a 10 year old boy locked in his basement...
Thanks to the good folks at Breaking Glass Pictures I have a copy of their upcoming release of The Fields on DVD for giveaway. The movie is released on April 24th on DVD and Blu-ray. Keep reading for details on how you can win a copy of the DVD.
For some inexplicable reason, director Johannes Roberts' horror flick F has still yet to see a release in the U.S. Hopefully this will happen sooner or later though. In the meantime I recommend you grab an import copy; you can find one on the UK branch of Amazon for less than $10 (and that includes shipping), and you can read my review here. Anyhoo, Roberts' is back with his new film, Storage 24, and it is set for a June 29th release, in the UK. The film stars, and was written by, Noel Clarke, who also brought us kidulthood and adulthood. More details, including the trailer, below
As you can see above, I have the new poster for the upcoming Danny Trejo flick, Bad Ass. Set to open at theaters on April 13th, the film follows Trejo's character in full-on vengeance mode. The film will also be available on VOD on the same day. Full list of providers below.

Have at ya, with a giant Swede! That's right, Synapse Films are bringing Red Scorpion to Blu-ray in June. On June 12th, which I believe is Father's Day, the movie, which was originally released back in 1989, will see a shiny Blu-ray/DVD combo release with plenty of extras.
Next week Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall will commence shooting an as yet untitled new suspense thriller in the UK. The movie from Focus Features and Working Title Films is to be directed by John Crowley and will focus on two ex-lovers that end up on the same defense team during a terrorism trial. Full details below.
On May 28th Mediumrare Entertainment will be releasing the complete series of the Spielberg produced TV show Earth 2. The show aired between 1994 and 1995, running for two seasons and starred the likes of Tim Curry, Virginia Madsen and Terry O'Quinn.

Argentinian horror flick Penumbra will be released theatrically and on IFC Midnight Cable, as well as Digitally (Sundance Now, iTunes, Amazon, Xbox and Playstation) on April 20th. The film was written and directed by Adrian & Ramiro Garcia Bogliana, and below I have the full synopsis and trailer for you to check out, and the trailer looks pretty cool.
The latest movie from director Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom, is hitting select theaters on May 25th from Focus Features. Coming to DVD on June 19th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is the complete first season of the legal drama Franklin and Bash, which aired on TNT. The release will contain three discs featuring all 10 episodes, as well as a plethora of extras.
Shame, which gets it Blu-ray/DVD release next week, has a couple of special screenings to coincide with the release. The film is directed by Steve McQueen and stars Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. Nic Cage's latest foray into the world of the Ghost Rider will be hitting 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on June 12th from Sony Pictures. No word on what extras the DVD will contain, if any, but both Blu-ray editions seem to have a fair few packed into them. The movie seemed to get a royal caning on its theatrical release, but I am quite partial to Neveldine/Taylor's previous directorial output, so I dare say I will give this a chance at some point.
Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass (2011)
Review by Jude Felton
With the Bloody Disgusting Selects series of releases one thing has become perfectly clear, and that is that they released an incredibly varied bunch of movies. They certainly haven’t taken the safe path, the most accessible probably being The Woman, with movies from Germany, Spain and Argentina amongst others, with a variety of styles and sub-genres. The strangest that these eyes have viewed though is without a doubt Hellacious Acres, which hails from Canada.
