'Society' UK screening with Brian Yuzna Q&A

If I posted about every individual screening of a horror movie, I'd never leave the damned computer. However, this is an especially cool one, in my opinion, and definitely one that those on the south coast of England should be queuing up to see. On May 23rd Cine Excess International Film Festival and the University of Brighton’s Faculty of Arts are presenting a remastered screening of Brian Yuzna's Society. Yuzna himself will be in attendence.. Too damned cool! More details below.

Filthy Music Review - 'Gloryhammer: Tales from the Kingdom of Fife'

Gloryhammer – Tales from the Kingdom of Fife (2013)

Napalm Records

Review by Jude Felton

With a name like Gloryhammer you can pretty much guess what you are going to get. That’s right, we’re in the realms of fantasy power metal here, and with a song entitled The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee you just know that the cheese factor is going to be amped up to 11.

Fantastic teaser trailer for 'Copiii: 1st Entry' debuts

Last year director L. Gustavo Cooper brought us the fantastic short film, Velvet Road, which you really should see, if you haven't already. It's another addition to the ever expanding zombie sub-genre, but one that actually adds something it. Now, over the past few months he has been working on his feature length debut, Copiii: The 1st Entry, and production wrapped just last week, I believe. The good news for you folks is that the teaser trailer debuted yesterday, over at Dread Central. I actually saw it a few weeks back, and have been itching to share it ever since. Now I can, so enjoy, and get excited about a new and original horror flick!

'Motel Hell' coming to Blu-ray from Arrow

May 13th will see one of my favorite films hit Blu-ray for the first time. That's right, Arrow Video will be releasing Motel Hell on to Blu-ray and DVD. The release comes with a reversible sleeve and a ton of extras, so let's round up those critters and make Farmer Francis some fritters!

Filthy Music Review - 'Eye of Solitude: Sui Caedere'

Eye of Solitude – Sui Caedere (2012)

Kaotoxin Records

Review by Jude Felton

It has to be said that whilst I do like music that speeds along like a runaway freight train, I am also partial to the slower, doomier side of things. There’s just something about the power and atmosphere that is created, when done well of course. Eye of Solitude are one such band that deliver what some may well call funeral doom, but what they really deliver, with Sui Caedere, is a truly wonderful and unforgiving album.

Filthy Music Review - 'Nails: Abandon All Life'

Nails – Abandon All Life (2013)

Southern Lord Recordings

Review by Jude Felton

There are a ton of bands out there that bang out songs at a jolly old rate. However, you can forget about them and check out Nails latest album; Abandon All Life. In just under 18 minutes they will batter the shit out of you with this devastating blend of grindcore, death metal and hardcore.
