Filthy Review - 'The Aggression Scale'

The Aggression Scale (2012)

Review by Jude Felton

Right from the very start of director Steven C. Miller’s The Aggression Scale you are left under absolutely no illusion as to what kind of movie you are watching. It starts with a visual punch to the face and never really lets up. This flick is an angry, snarling little beast that smells blood and wants you, the viewer, to taste it. Mind you, with the name of the film being what it is, you didn’t really expect a happy-go-lucky kind of flick did you?

Filthy Review - 'The Inbetweeners Movie'

The Inbetweeners Movie (2011)

Review by Jude Felton

A couple of years ago I was flicking through the channels on the old goggle box, when I came across a show called The Inbetweeners. It was showing on BBC America and followed the trials and tribulations of the socially inept Will Mackenzie and his three equally dysfunctional friends. The show was set primarily in school and hit all the right notes with me. Quite simply the show was, and still is, absolutely hilarious. The saying goes that your school days are the best of your life; this show puts a more realistic spin on that.

Filthy Review - 'Munger Road'

Munger Road (2011)

Review by Jude Felton

Every town, it would seem, has a Munger Road. You know the road, it’s the one that’s a bit off the beaten track, is spooky as hell and is haunted, and kids tell tales of the grisly events that no doubt happened there. In the case of Munger Road it is the ghosts of the victims of an accident where a train hit a stalled bus. Of course, when there are such urban legends kids want to investigate them. Such is part of the premise of this film.

Enter the 'Sinister' world of Ellison Oswald

With the October 5th release of Sinister just a few weeks away, I have discovered the journals of author Ellison Oswald (played by Ethan Hawke). So, I thought I would share them with you. Personally I cannot wait for this movie to hit, as from what I have heard so far is that it is actually scary. Let's hope so. To read Ellison's journals, click here.

Filthy Review - '[REC]3: Genesis'

[REC]3 Genesis (2012)

Review by Jude Felton

With the first two [REC] movies, which were released in 2007 and 2009 respectively, the writing and directing team of Paco Plaza and Jaume Balguero put a fresh new take on the undead genre. Set in an apartment building, creating a tense and claustrophobic atmosphere, the camera thrust the viewer deep into the heart of the action. Now, I wasn’t too enamored with the direction that Part 2 ended up taking towards the latter stages, but I still list them as two of my favorite, and best, zombie flicks to come along in many years.
