Welcome to Beatrice Dalle's Domain

Genre fans can't fail to remember Beatrice Dalle's terrifying turn in the devastatingly brutal French flick Inside (A' L'interieur), and she also stars in the upcoming Livide from the same Directing team of Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, but for me she will ever be ingrained in my mind from the 1986 movie Betty Blue. It was, and still is, a truly iconic flick and put Dalle on the movie map, and I watched my Dad's copy several times as a teenager. On April 17 she will be returning to our screens in the 2009 movie Domain.

Strand Releasing will be releasing the movie on DVD and I certainly plan on checking it out, with a view to reviewing it. You can read the full synopsis and check out the trailer below.

On the threshold of adulthood, 17-year-old Pierre becomes obsessed with his aunt Nadia (Béatrice Dalle, Betty Blue andTrouble Every Day). A flamboyant mathematician whose intellect clashes with her alcoholism and fatalistic view of life, Nadia is on a path to self-destruction. As Pierre discovers his budding sexuality, he attempts to rescue his beloved aunt from herself. DOMAIN is a dark, sexy mediation on the intersection of two lives with very different trajectories. Featuring intelligent discourse and Hitchcockian references, filmmaker John Waters declared “you’ll be left breathless by the sheer elegance of this astonishing workout.”
