Father's Day 3 Disc Is Retarded...Until Father's Day

Some news here for the collectors among you; the 3 disc set of Troma's upcoming Father's Day has been pushed back from Easter until Father's Day (so June 12th). The reason being for this is that it has had extended successful theatrical screenings. And quite frankly what better day to release it?

The 3 disc set will be limited to just 10,000 copies will feature the Blu-ray, Making of DVD and CD Soundtrack and more. Expect a review of the film, not the set, from myself in the very near future.

DUE TO EXTENDED THEATRICAL RUNS, THE RELEASE OF 3-DISK LIMITED EDITION FATHER'S DAY DVD WILL BE RETARDED FROM EASTER TO FATHER'S DAY 2012
February 22, 2012, New York, NY - Greetings from Tromaville! In the twisted world of Troma, Easter seemed like the perfect release date for Father's Day, but due to successful theatrical screenings, the 3-disc limited edition will now be released on June 12, just in time for Father's Day. It's the perfect gift for your father or abusive step-father! Only 10,000 numbered copies will be available, and the release will contain the film on blu-ray, a full length making-of documentary on DVD, a CD soundtrack and the many other bonuses for which Troma is known.

Variety calls Father's Day "a gleefully tasteless quasi-grindhouse nasty that's funnier than most of the many such parodic cheesefests that have been created since, well,Grindhouse!" Ain't it Cool News adds "Father's Day is over the top, tasteless, senseless, and completely hilarious."

Produced by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, and written and directed by Astron-6, the gritty, gruesome, grindhouse Father's Day follows that classic story we all grew up with: boy watches father murdered, boy grows into a vengeful one-eyed man, man teams up with a priest and a male prostitute to take down his father's killer. With good reason,Father's Day won Best Film, Most Original Film, Best Kills, and Best Poster at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and has been invited to other prestigious festivals all over the world.
