'Doctor Who: Series 7 Part 1' to hit in November.


Set to hit stores on November 13th is the Blu-ray and DVD release, from BBC America, of Doctor Who: Series 7 Part 1. The 2 disc set will run to 225 minutes plus bonus features. Also coming soon will be the DVD release of some classic Doctor Who tales. The Ambassadors of Death, with John Pertwee as the Doctor, will be released on October 9th, with The Claws of Axos Special Edition (also with Pertwee) hitting on November 13th. More details below.


Series 7 Part 1 Details

Doctor Who returns, after a record-breaking season on BBC AMERICA, with five new blockbuster episodes in the first half of Series Seven. Join the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his companions Amy and Rory (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, aka “the Ponds”) on their latest escapades through space and time.  Featuring an asylum full of Daleks, a spaceship full of dinosaurs and a town called Mercy in the Wild West, this explosive series concludes with Amy and Rory’s heart-breaking farewell – a race against time through the streets of Manhattan. Will the Doctor really lose the Ponds forever? There’s only one way to find out. Bonus features include the BBC AMERICA specials The Science of Doctor Who and Doctor Who at Comic-Con, as well as the Pond Life featurettes, the prequel to Asylum of the Daleks, and The Making of The Gunslinger.

The Ambassadors of Death Details


Something has gone seriously wrong with Mars Probe 7. With no contact from the astronauts since the rocket started its return journey from Mars, Space Control is now extremely worried about the fate of the crew. A rescue mission recovers something – but whatever it is, it certainly isn’t human. To find out what has happened to the astronauts, the Doctor (Third Doctor – Jon Pertwee) must head into space…without the TARDIS. This digitally re-mastered Doctor Who classic includes: Audio Commentary by actors Caroline John, Nicholas Courtney, Peter Halliday and Geoffrey Beevers, director Michael Ferguson, script editor Terrance Dicks, stunt co-ordinator Derek Ware, along with stunt performers Roy Scammell and Derek Martin; Mars Probe 7 making-of featurette;  as well as many other bonus features.


The Claws of Axos Special Edition Details


When a damaged spaceship containing beautiful humanoid creatures called Axons lands on Earth, the Doctor (Third Doctor – Jon Pertwee), Jo and UNIT are sent to investigate. In return for their help, the Axons offer the gift of Axonite, which would end world famine. It all appears too good to be true – so what secrets are the Axons hiding on board their ship?
