July 3rd will see the release to Blu-ray and DVD of The Hunter, which stars Willem Defoe, Frances O'Connor and Sam Neill. Magnolia Home Entertainment will be releasing the movie which was directed by Daniel Nettheim. No word as yet on any extras.

Two-time Academy Award Nominee, Willem Dafoe (John Carter, Spider-Man Franchise, The English Patient), Golden Globe Nominee Frances O’Connor (Blessed, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) and Golden Globe Nominee Sam Neill (The Vow, Daybreakers, Jurassic Park) bring “an elegant piece of gritty storytelling” (Complex.com) to life when THE HUNTER comes to Blu-ray and DVD on July 3 from Magnolia Home Entertainment. The “eerily beautiful, lovingly filmed” (Cinephilia) movie that made its world premiere at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival is based on the bestselling novel of the same title by acclaimed author/filmmaker, Julia Leigh.
After being hired by an anonymous company, Martin (Dafoe), a skilled mercenary, heads into the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for the Tasmanian tiger that is believed to be extinct. Staying with a family whose eco-activist father is missing, Martin reluctantly becomes involved with them.  Working to stay on task for collecting genetic material from the elusive tiger, Martin is lead down a path of unforeseen dangers, complicating his already deadly mission.
