Wildside Review - Bloodrayne: The Third Reich

Review by Jude Felton

Before I go any further I just want to clarify a couple of things. First is that yes this is an Uwe Boll film, and secondly it is the second sequel to the video game adaptation of Uwe Boll’s 2005 flick BloodRayne. This will either fill you with dread or you will be eager to see what the Teutonic tour-de-force has come up with this time around. Well, I will tell you straight off the bat that this is a real mixed bag of tricks. No, it’s not a very good movie but it does have a couple of things going for it. More on those later though.
The story this time around is that Vampires are common place in World War 2 Europe. So much so that Rayne (Natassia Malthe) is busy hunting them down. On the flipside we have Doctor Mangler, got to love that name, played by Clint Howard who is experimenting on the undead a la Day of the Dead’s Dr. Logan. He wants to make Hitler immortal by transfusing Vampires blood into the Fuhrer, if he can get some of the Daywalker Rayne’s blood all the better. Commandant Ekard Brant (Michael Pare) wants some of this action for himself though. Already a Vampire himself, which you would think is enough, he wants to track down Rayne for his own nefarious desires.
